Tsuzuki: So this means I get to molest Hisoka in a classroom right?
Hisoka: *splutters* Tsu-Tsuzuki!
Yumi: We'll see ;)
Hisoka: Oh christ
Yumi: Who wants to do the disclaimer?
Tsuzuki: I will. Yumi123 does not own Yami no Matsuei or the song verse from 'Kristy are you doing okay?' All characters belong to Yoko Matsushita-sama.

"There's a moment in time and it's stuck in my mind. Way back when we were just kids. Cause your eyes told the tale of an act of betrayal I knew that somebody did. Oh waves of time seem to wash away the scenes of our crimes. For you this never ends. Can you stay strong? Can you go on? Kristy are you doing okay? A rose that won't bloom, winters kept you. Don't waste your whole life trying to get back what was taken away."

(Kristy are you doing okay? By The Offspring)

Tsuzuki Asato a former teacher at a Kamakura high school sat there in the rainy meadow alone and thought about everything that had happened to him within the past year. The year where it all started, where he first became a teacher. He wanted to forget it, forget the pain and especially forget the face of the one he loved. When he thought of that person guilt overwhelmed him as well as anger at how he never noticed just what that child Kurosaki Hisoka was going through.

It was a rainy Monday morning at the beginning of September and Tsuzuki had started his first day as a history teacher. He was also having a class of first years for his form. He got a notice mentioning a certain student Kurosaki Hisoka assigned to his class who due to having hospital appointments would sometimes be absent from school but no specific illness was specified it seemed that it was an unknown illness.

Tsuzuki got to meet his form students. They all seemed a little nervous except for one student who looked calm about the whole thing but who looked pale and unwell all the same. Tsuzuki presumed that this was Hisoka. That was confirmed when he took the register. The kid didn't talk much and seemed to be isolated from the others. The others seemed to avoid him because he had been with them at their last school too.

Tsuzuki also noticed that the kid was alone during lunch too. He just sat there reading a book but he seemed content at doing that so Tsuzuki didn't worry too much about it. The kid was very intelligent and seemed to get annoyed when other people interrupted the teacher. He also seemed to hold his head in pain when there was an outburst of emotions. There was something not quite right to Tsuzuki even then. He was going to monitor this kid very carefully.

Tsuzuki got on very well with the science teacher Watari Yutaka who was as outgoing as he was. He was also quite stunned to learn that he was in a relationship with the maths teacher Tatsumi Seiichirou he didn't think that Watari would be Tatsumi's type but they had been dating for over a year and Watari was hoping to be proposed to very soon. Tsuzuki himself hadn't had much luck with relationships but he was waiting for the right person that he could love and who would love him back.

It was time for the students to go home. Tsuzuki was being let off early too which he was grateful for.  He grabbed his things together and briefly glanced out of the window and saw Hisoka standing there outside staring up at the sky. He decided he would go and check on him to see if he was alright. Tsuzuki went and stood beside him. Hisoka turned around. "Sensei." He said. "Are you okay Kurosaki-kun?" "I'm fine and you can call me Hisoka I don't mind." "Isn't that lack of respect though?" Hisoka seemed to give him a look that told him to drop it so he did.

"Okay Hisoka I was just wondering why you were standing outside in the rain that's all." "No reason really I just wanted to pass the time nobody's home right now at my house so I have to wait until they get back." "Kurosaki huh? You're from such a prestigious and traditional family I would have thought your parents would send you to a better school." Hisoka just glanced down and didn't say anything.

When Tsuzuki was in bed that night he couldn't help but wonder that he had hurt the kid in any way he told himself he would apologise the next day and left it...

Kurosaki Hisoka lay there in a hospital bed feeling weak and helpless and wondering if this was finally it. He had gained so much in this past year. He had gained something he'd never knew he would have. Someone who loved him. For three years Hisoka had been suffering from really poor health. He knew it was something to do with being outside where the cherry blossom trees were. But Hisoka couldn't remember that night too well. Hisoka had always been frail to begin with but now his condition was worse.

His weak health was one of the reasons why his parents rejected him as their child. His body couldn't mature into one of a teenager and he couldn't gain muscles. His father had always told him a weak heir was a useless one and that if he couldn't get stronger then he would no longer earn the status of the Kurosaki head. Of course there was no way he could be now, not with his 'gift'. From a young age Hisoka was able to sense the emotions of other people and had something of a sixth sense. His parents found out about this and started locking him in the basement if they ever saw him doing it.

They also beat him up and verbally abused him. Hisoka's family believed greatly in demons and curses and they started to believe Hisoka was a monster and was bringing shame to their family, they felt that the lake demons curse was more than they could handle and now they had a son born differently. Hisoka felt miserable he couldn't help this power all he wanted was for someone to say "you're not different Hisoka." And "I love you no matter what Hisoka." But Hisoka had given up hope.

Hisoka smiled faintly with his head buried in the pillow thinking about what Tsuzuki would say to his thoughts on being a monster. "You're not a demon Hisoka you're more like an angel." Tsuzuki had said this to him before. But now Hisoka really did feel like a monster. He was probably going to die and leave the only one who ever loved him. Hisoka then thought of the time he first met Tsuzuki on his first day at high school.

The morning had started off the same way it always did. "Oi boy get out of bed NOW!" His mother had yelled to him. Hisoka dragged himself out of bed and got ready. His mother didn't even say good morning she just glared at him. Hisoka avoided her gaze which earned a sharp slap from her because of his insolence. Hisoka couldn't help it, her emotions hurt him. Hisoka drank a glass of water and took his medication which didn't work.

Every so often Hisoka had to be admitted to a hospital in Tokyo when his entire body would be in pain the whole night. The doctors were puzzled at what was happening to him. There was one doctor there who gave him an eerie feeling the doctor named Muraki. It was unfortunate that the man was his personal doctor. Every time he went he felt even worse than before but he could never quite remember what happened at those check ups.

Hisoka went off to school. He was dreading it. Some of his former classmates were there and they all avoided him like the plague he couldn't blame them really. They were scared of him after he had an attack from his illness in the middle of class and something about him just creeped them out which is what he was getting from them. Hisoka was always alone and he always had been. He never had any friends just a group of children who he created in his mind to stop him going mad from loneliness.

They met their form tutor Tsuzuki Asato a man who was very cheerful. Hisoka didn't understand this man. Everyone's emotions kept getting to him so he gripped his head in pain. He could feel concern from Tsuzuki. Nobody had ever been concerned about him that was new. Hisoka figured out where all his classes were and spent his lunch time just reading quietly. He didn't eat he never did eat lunch at school anyway. He had to take his medication too and when he took it, it made him feel sick so he couldn't eat anyway.

Home time came and Hisoka just stood outside the weather was still drizzly and his parents were out so Hisoka couldn't come home until they let him in which wouldn't be for ages anyway. He had until five to get home. Tsuzuki appeared behind him bringing him out of his train of thought. "Sensei." He said. "Are you okay Kurosaki-kun?" Hisoka didn't really like being called this so he said he was fine and told him to call him Hisoka. Tsuzuki wondered if this was lack of respect. Hisoka felt uncomfortable and Tsuzuki sensed this and dropped it.

Tsuzuki then questioned why his family hadn't sent him to a better school. Oh Hisoka knew this answer alright because his parents didn't feel that he deserved to go to a good school in fact they were reluctant to even send him to school anyway. But of course Hisoka wasn't going to say this out loud so he didn't reply. Hisoka excused himself and walked away he thought he'd go to the forest for a bit he still had time to kill.

'Crap.' Hisoka thought he was in trouble he'd fallen asleep in the forest and it was seven in the evening he was sure to get a beating. His suspicions were confirmed when a cup flew out of the window nearly hitting Hisoka and he knew his father was home. "HISOKA WHERE THE HELL HAVE YOU BEEN YOU FOOLISH CHILD?!" Hisoka's father Nagare had yelled from out of the window and Hisoka flinched gasping in pain and his father had seen it. "You've been using your empathy again haven't you? You idiot child! You demon! Why was I cursed to have you as my son?! Get into the basement NOW!" Hisoka complied knowing he couldn't argue with his father.

It looked like he might not have been allowed to go to school the next day. But he didn't know maybe his parents would have mercy on him...
